Rehearsals
We rehearse for about 90 minutes on Thursday evenings at 7:00p.m. in the Delano High School band room.
Our repertoire spans virtually every major genre of western music from traditional concert band fare, to renditions of early music, to adaptations of orchestral pieces, to contemporary iterations of popular music and modern works for band.
From our 2019 Spring Concert
We welcome musicians who enjoy performing!
We’re always interested in musicians who play any of the following instruments:
Flute | Oboe | Bassoon | Bb Clarinet | Alto Clarinet | Bass Clarinet | Alto Saxophone | Tenor Saxophone | Baritone Saxophone | Trumpet (Cornet) | French Horn | Tenor Trombone | Bass Trombone | Euphonium | Tuba | Percussion (including mallets)
You’re invited to sit in on a rehearsal. At this point, we do not require auditions. However, to facilitate rehearsal planning, we do need to know when you wish to sit-in with us.
Simply send us an email letting us know when you’d like to sit in on a rehearsal. By letting us know when you’ll attend, we will:
- know when to expect you (so we can have music ready for you to read)
- know what instrument you play (so we can have the right music ready for you to read)
- be able to answer any immediate questions you may have
That’s all there is to it! We look forward to making music with you!
The Delano Community Band is an all-volunteer, inter-generational concert band based in Delano, Minnesota. Established in November 2017, band members have ranged from a (very talented) 7th grader, to those who’ve been performing for over 50 years. With this diversity of experience, the band offers growth and performance opportunities for musicians.
